What are the types of nail extensions?

There are mainly two types of Nail extensions that one get done, there are a few more nail art options that one can look into, but the basic types of nail extensions are:

Acrylic nail extensions

Acrylic nail extensions involve fixing a fake nail on half of your nail and covering it up with acrylic nail gels to create the kind of nail you want. Acrylic nails are quick-dry and take less time for the process to finish.

Gel nail extensions

Gel extensions involve using gel on your nails to create a longer nail tip. Gel nail extensions have two different types:

• UV gel nail extension: UV gel nails require the nail technician to use UV gel to create the tip on your nail, giving your nail a nice, natural-looking nail extension. These extensions are cured under a UV lamp to make them harden and dry for further nail work.

• LED gel nail extension: LED gel nails are similar to UV gel nails, however, they need LED gels for creating the faux tip and need to be cured under a LED lamp.

The only difference between UV gel nail extension and LED gel nail extension is that in UV extensions, you need to cure your nails for 8 minutes for them to fully harden and get ready for nail art or gel polish application, whereas, LED extensions only need 60 seconds to cure under LED lamp.
